Shema Mugabo is a Strategy and Design Specialist for Democracy International. Prior to joining DI, he worked at an education nonprofit organization in Washington D.C. supporting career exposure programming in schools throughout the United States. Mr. Mugabo also completed a year of service as an AmeriCorps Education Fellow in Newark, NJ and supported the vote-by-mail program at the Anne Arundel County Board of Elections during the 2020 general election. He earned an MA in Political Science with a concentration in World Politics from George Washington University and a BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan where he focused on issues of development and security in the Africa region.
