Rozafa Ukimeraj Çuni
Rozafa Ukimeraj Çuni is the Senior Governance Advisor for USAID’s Social Contract Activity in Kosovo, implemented by Democracy International. Ms. Çuni started her professional career in the private banking sector. She has 15-year work experience in public administration. She held the position of the Director of the Department of Local Self-Governance for five years, while as of 2013 she headed the Department for European Integration and Policy Coordination within the Ministry of Local Government Administration. On 31 March 2016, Ms. Çuni was appointed Secretary General in the Ministry of Local Government Administration. From November 2020 to May 2021 she held the position of Secretary General at the Ministry of Defense. She also has academic experience at the university. On June 27, 2021, she finished her 15 years of work experience as a civil servant. Until January 2022, she was engaged as External Adviser at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kosovo.
Ms. Çuni was born in Prizren where she completed her primary school, gymnasium, and lower secondary school of music. She studied law at the University of Prishtina and due to her great success shown during her studies, has been awarded the degree cuma laude “Distinguished Student.” She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology and pursued her further postgraduate studies in the field of Public Administration in the School of Environment and Public Administration at Indiana University and attended an Executive Programme at Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford. She also passed the Bar Exam.
Due to her engagement in Kosovo United States Alumni Association’s voluntary activities, in 2018 she received the “Alumni of the Year” award. She speaks Albanian and English.
