Nawate Wani is a Strategy and Design Associate with Democracy International (DI). Before joining DI, Ms. Wani worked at Aiddata, a William and Mary-based research lab part of the Global Research Institute, as a senior research assistant focusing on the influence of Chinese Soft Power.

Ms. Wani holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Economics from the College of William and Mary. She is particularly interested in peacebuilding and conflict resolution, focusing on sub-Saharan Africa. Ms. Wani is fluent in French and Kirundi and has intermediate Spanish skills.
