Ian Williams
Ian Williams is a Global Security and Field Operations Manager at Democracy International. Mr. Williams started his career as a reporter, covering domestic and international news focusing on politics and technology. He later transitioned into the Global Security industry where, in increasingly senior positions at Meta, he specialized in identifying and mitigating risk to its Public Policy organization. Mr. Williams secured key operations in Turkey, Myanmar, Brazil, the Philippines, and the United States, among other countries. At Meta, Mr. Williams authored several annual Remote Work Reports that identified novel risks that surfaced by COVID-19 and made actionable recommendations on how organizations should adjust operations in a shifting ecosystem. In 2023, he traveled to Ukraine to volunteer with Make it Possible Ukraine, an organization dedicated to educating internally displaced children.
Mr. Williams earned his Bachelor’s degree in Print and Online Journalism from San Francisco State University and his Business, International Relations, and Political Economy Certificate from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
