Elizabeth Cleveland is a Program Officer I at Democracy International. Previously, she worked as a Program Officer in ABA ROLI’s Africa Division and supported programs in the Central African Republic, Liberia, The Gambia, Somalia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, among others.

She also currently serves as Executive Director of PridePads Africa, a non-profit organization that produces biodegradable menstrual pads and provides menstrual health education seminars at local schools and community groups in northern Cameroon. Having first joined PridePads Africa as a volunteer in 2021, Ms. Cleveland is honored to have served on the Board of Directors before becoming Executive Director in January 2023.

Ms. Cleveland holds an MA in Gender Studies and Law from SOAS University of London and a BA in International and Comparative Politics with a minor in International Human Rights Law from the American University of Paris. She also speaks French.
