Project Description

Democracy International is supporting a revision of the 2011 Decree Law of Associations in Tunisia to ensure input from civil society and subject matter experts, protect the transparency of the registration process, and maintain the right of associations and civil society organizations (CSOs) to freely and legally register with the government with minimal restrictions. DI will create a digital platform that allows CSOs to register their organizations remotely, easily, and transparently while strengthening the capacity of the government entity in charge of the process. The program is designed to enhance both the government’s capacity to register CSOs and the ability of CSOs to maintain their legal status and advocate for necessary reforms.
