Project Description
DI is working with the Electoral Law and Governance Institute for Africa (ELGIA) and its impressive local partners to strengthen electoral accountability and inclusivity in Kenya. In the first year, DI is supporting the program’s effective engagement with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, the Political Parties Liaison Committee, and judicial stakeholders, including support for pause-and-reflect sessions at key points in the electoral cycle. DI is also working with ELGIA to design and further its learning agenda, including providing technical assistance for the program’s Monitoring and Evaluation Plan. In the second year, DI will support facilitation of postelection, multistakeholder roundtables on lessons learned. In keeping with the commitment of USAID to draw on insights from Social and Behavioral Science, the roundtables will analyze behaviors that have been obstacles to inclusion and will encourage peer learning.
