Project Description

Democracy International served as a member of the 2011 Joint International Post-Election Needs Review/Planning Mission to Haiti under the general coordination of the United Nations Development Program. The team prepared a joint report that analyzed the Haitian electoral system, documented lessons learned from the 2010 and 2011 presidential and legislative elections, assessed the capacity of the Provisional Electoral Council to administer future elections, and presented recommendations for international assistance for elections in 2012 and 2016.
