Project Description

Democracy International is working with USAID/Eastern and Southern Caribbean to strengthen community resilience in Trinidad and Tobago. DI is partnering with leading local civil society organizations to reduce the risk of victimization of refugees and migrants and to enhance direct, positive engagement between Trinidadian/Tobagonian and Venezuelan communities. Using People-to-People approaches, we are building trust across communities by fostering positive social interactions between refugees and migrants and their host communities, increasing stability and community-driven resilience. Through technical support and grants to civil society partners, DI is enhancing communication across communities, supporting the expansion of critical services to Venezuelan refugees and migrants, and fostering a coordinated humanitarian response to the Venezuelan governance crisis.
