Project Description

Democracy International worked with USAID’s Office of Conflict Management and Mitigation (USAID/DCHA/CMM) to conduct research that informed the agency’s peacebuilding programming in various countries. The DI team conducted fieldwork in the Central African Republic and Thailand to gather data for the study. Data from this fieldwork supported DI’s analysis of the theories of change and outcomes of peacebuilding programming. The completed study informed USAID’s existing and future peacebuilding programming, provided an update to USAID’s current guidance on religion, conflict, and peacebuilding, and contributed to the body of literature on the implementation and design of inter-religious peacebuilding strategies.
