Project Description
Working with Winrock International, Democracy International conducted an end-line survey for the Bangladesh Counter Trafficking-in-Persons (BC/TIP) program, a seven-year program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) that aimed to reduce the prevalence of human trafficking in Bangladesh. Despite the COVID-19 crisis, DI worked with survey research specialists in Bangladesh to collect nearly 2,000 survey responses across 16 districts to mirror and expand upon the project’s baseline survey. DI’s research enabled USAID, Winrock International, and other stakeholders to gain insight into citizens’ and professionals’ understanding and attitudes about TIP, safe migration, child marriage, and Counter-Trafficking Committee activities; capture and understand knowledge gaps around these issues; and measure progress made toward BC/TIP’s objectives.
