Warren Jones

Global Security Director

Warren Jones is the Global Security Director for Democracy International. Mr. Jones oversees DI’s security support for field offices, business development, and travellers as well as DI’s responses to security incidents or other emergencies. He brings 20 years of experience in managing security and risk management operations, project management, organizational development, operations/projects start up and closure, organizational growth, transformation and turnaround strategies, procurement and logistics management and implementation, and contracts compliance and crisis management in complex and challenging post conflict and developing countries in Africa and Asia.

Mr. Jones has participated in a myriad of relevant training courses which include: an IQ Level 4 Industry Certificate in the Principles and Practices of International Lead Auditing, a Counter Insurgency Leaders Course from the NATO COIN Academy in Kabul, Afghanistan, CENTCOM & Afghanistan Ministry of Interior Compliance training, and three cycles of training from the Africa Contingency Operations Training and Assistance (AOTA). Mr. Jones was also appointed as a Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC) instructor. Mr. Jones is fluent in Afrikaans and proficient in Zulu.
