Lura Morton
Lura Morton is a Business Development Associate at Democracy International (DI). She joined DI after working a year in higher education, where she worked as the coordinator of a writing and tutoring center. Ms. Morton has conducted research in Rabat, Morocco on women’s coalition building in the House of Representatives and in Doha, Qatar on women’s access to educational spaces. Her primary interests are in women in politics and education. Ms. Morton has also interned at the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations, AMIDEAST, and with the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
Originally from Moscow, Idaho, Ms. Morton earned her B.A. in Comparative Politics and Government from the University of Puget Sound in 2019. She speaks Arabic and some Darija.
