Peacebuilding and Psychosocial Support Training Specialist

Alafi Isaac Alfred is the Peacebuilding and Psychosocial Support Training Specialist for DI’s Education for Peace, Recovery, and Resilience (EPRR) Activity in South Sudan. He last served as the SUCCESS program’s Civic Engagement Program Manager with DI. Mr. Alfred has 10 years of experience as a development and governance practitioner supporting and facilitating government, NGO, and civil society programs in the areas of development, electoral administration, and constitutional development. At DI, Mr. Alafi continues to provide technical assistance to NGO and CSO partners by providing capacity building opportunities to empower and advance citizen participation in peace and political processes. Before joining DI, Mr. Alafi worked as a National Constitutional Development Officer for the National Democratic Institute (NDI). He also worked as a National Program Development Officer with the International Foundation for Electoral System’s (IFES) where he provided support to the implementation of the USAID-funded South Sudan Elections Administration Support Program (SSEASP). Prior to working with USAID-funded projects, Mr. Alafi worked for the Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau (SSRB) as a Legal Officer and a Senior Training Officer where he advised electorates on voting procedures and delivered training on polling and registration processes of the Southern Sudan Self-Determination Referendum.

Mr. Alafi is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) from Uganda Christian University (UCU). He holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Juba and an LLB from the UCU.
