Yousra Khalil

Program Assistant

Yousra Khalil is a Program Assistant for Democracy International’s SUCCESS program in South Sudan, and several programs in Tunisia and Latin America and the Caribbean. Previously, she interned at Search For Common Ground where she worked on countering violent extremism in East Africa. Yousra has experience in research analysis and communications, having worked as a Social Media Research Analyst at the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in Doha, Qatar, and a Research Assistant at the World Bank working on The Enabling the Business of Agriculture project, and the United States Institute of Peace where she supported the Public Affairs and Communication team. Ms. Khalil is interested in peacebuilding and conflict resolution, resiliency and restorative justice, and empowering marginalized groups.

Ms. Khalil received her B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University where she studied Information Systems and Sociology. She received her M.A. in International Affairs from the George Washington University with a concentration in peace and conflict resolution and a regional focus on Sub Saharan Africa. She is fluent in Arabic.
