Paul Teeple

Chief of Party

Paul Teeple is the Chief of Party for Democracy International (DI) for the USAID-funded Community Violence Prevention program in Jamaica. A specialist in working with at-risk youth in the vulnerable neighborhoods of Latin America and the Caribbean and for using sport for development purposes, Mr. Teeple recently led the USAID Honduras Workforce Development Activity “Empleando Futuros” that helped over 3,300 youth get jobs, start a business or go back to school, and worked successfully with government and the private sector to develop and implement biosafety training benefitting over 250,000 people in the first months following the COVID-19 outbreak. Previously, he was the founding Director of Partners of the Americas’ regional “A Ganar” sport-based youth workforce development and violence prevention program. Mr. Teeple is an experienced alliance builder having developed programs for and alliances with USAID, the US State Department, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Nike Foundation, the Clinton Foundation, the Carlos Slim Foundation, FIFA, PepsiCo Mexico, and numerous Honduran companies. He has led multiple exchange and leadership development programs for US, Latin American and Caribbean leaders and has advised numerous leaders on how to grow and improve their programs. Mr. Teeple has also held leadership positions with the Peace Corps in Washington DC, Honduras, Nicaragua, and in Guatemala where he also served as a volunteer. A native of Tennessee where he was raised on dairy farm, Mr. Teeple has a BS in Communications from the University of Tennessee. He is fluent Spanish and Portuguese.
