Yemile Mizrahi

Director, Research and Analytical Services

Dr. Yemile Mizrahi is Director, Research and Analytical Services, at Democracy International. She has more than twenty years of international development experience, including research, analytical, and monitoring and evaluation work to strengthen democratic, representative, and transparent political systems, particularly in Latin America. Before joining DI, Dr. Mizrahi worked for Tetratech-ARD supervising and assessing a violence prevention program in Mexico. From 2005 to 2009, Dr. Mizrahi was a senior associate at Casals and Associates, specializing in the design and implementation of anti-corruption programs. She has also worked as an independent consultant for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the World Bank.

In 1999, Dr. Mizrahi was a Fellow Resident at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars, where she wrote the manuscript for her book, From Martyrdom to Power: The Partido Acción Nacional in Mexico. Dr. Mizrahi has also taught a course on corruption and development as an adjunct professor at American University. Prior to moving to the United States, Dr. Mizrahi was a professor at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) in Mexico City.

Dr. Mizrahi received a Ph.D. in Political Science from University of California, Berkeley in 1994. She earned her B.A. in Social Studies from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, where she majored in Social Studies. She is a native Spanish speaker.
