Sofya Orlosky
Sofya Orlosky is the Deputy Director of Program Management at Democracy International (DI). Ms. Orlosky joined DI after a successful tenure at Freedom House, where she played a key role in creating and growing a Europe and Eurasia portfolio and a number of global and cross-pillar initiatives. Ms. Orlosky specializes in designing and implementing adaptable programs in complex political environments with an emphasis on informed risk management.
Ms. Orlosky’s experience also includes roles at the National Democratic Institute (NDI), TakingITGlobal, and local organizations in Eurasia focused on civil society capacity building. Throughout her career, she has developed and led more than 40 projects across a dozen countries in Europe and Eurasia, supporting civil society resilience, independent media and investigative journalism, rule of law and justice sector reform, citizen engagement and political participation, and multi-stakeholder alliances for democratic reform.
Ms. Orlosky holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University - Bloomington, a Master of Arts in Linguistics, and a PMP® certification from the Project Management Institute. In addition to her work, Ms. Orlosky participates in OSCE short-term election observation missions and volunteers with a variety of civic initiatives.
