Lura is an Administration and Operations Associate at Democracy International. She joined DI after working a year in higher education, where she worked as the coordinator of a writing and tutoring center. Lura has conducted research in Rabat, Morocco on women’s coalition building in the House of Representatives and in Doha, Qatar on women’s access to educational spaces. Her primary interests are in women in politics and education. Lura has also interned at the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations, AMIDEAST, and with the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
Originally from Moscow, Idaho, Lura earned her B.A. in Comparative Politics and Government from the University of Puget Sound in 2019. She played NCAA soccer and ran track. She speaks Arabic and some Darija.
