Karina Pereira works as a Communications Assistant at Democracy International. She is particularly interested in the power of language and rhetoric in developing effective communication strategies that transcend cultural and language barriers. Being a forced immigrant from Venezuela, she is deeply passionate about social justice, migration, and protecting democracy.

Ms. Pereira holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications focusing on Digital and Mass Communications from the University of Maryland - College Park. Fluent in Spanish and English, she has diverse experience, including a PR and Communications Internship at the Migration Policy Institute, Education First, and a role as a Marketing Strategist at a Latin-owned small business, Panateca.
