Julian Hricik

Program Assistant

Julian Hricik is a Program Assistant supporting Democracy International’s SUCCESS programming in South Sudan. Prior to working at DI Julian served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda, where he taught secondary level chemistry and biology, as an employment caseworker for immigrants and refugees, and as an ESL, citizenship, and adult basic education instructor with COMPASS AmeriCorps. Julian has also completed internships with the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Africa Program and with the Public Affairs Office at the US Embassy in Tanzania. He is particularly interested in conflict stabilization, preventive diplomacy, and conflict mediation.

Julian graduated with honors from Georgetown’s Graduate School of Foreign Service, where he concentrated in Global Conflict and Security, and holds Bachelors of Arts degrees in Biology and Art History from the University of Southern California. He is an advanced Swahili speaker.
