Henry Knecht

Program Management Officer

Henry Knecht is a Program Management Officer at Democracy International. He primarily supports projects in Armenia and the Justice, Rights, and Security (JURIS) Rapid Response Assistance Activity program. Mr. Knecht worked with the U.S. Peace Corps before joining DI, serving in both Senegal and Liberia. He worked on various projects of interest to his host communities but specialized in community health, malaria, WASH, malnutrition, and maternal health.

Mr. Knecht is interested in human rights, conflict prevention, governance, the security-development nexus, preventing violent extremism, food security, the destabilizing effects of climate change, and migration. He is also a strong proponent of good project design, monitoring and evaluation, and informing programs with robust research and knowledge of local environments.

Mr. Knecht has a Master of Arts in Security Policy Studies from the George Washington Elliott School of International Affairs and a B.A. in Political Science from the College of Wooster. He speaks fluent Sereer and Intermediate French.
