Project Description
Democracy International (DI), with support from USAID/Bangladesh, is implementing the Responsive Local Governance (RLG) Activity in Bangladesh. This initiative promotes sustainable governance, strengthens citizen trust in local institutions, and enhances civic participation.
The Activity focuses on improving accountability and service delivery in vital sectors like education, healthcare, and economic development. By fostering a more transparent and effective local governance, DI aims to empower communities and amplify citizen voices in decision-making processes.
Public service delivery relies heavily on human behavior, requiring action at every step, from recognizing the need for services to setting standards, delivering services, and monitoring progress. DI’s Social and Behavioral Science approach for the RLG Activity focuses on fostering accountability through values, attitudes, social norms, and behavior, with targeted interventions for government officials, CSOs, and citizens. By addressing behavioral challenges in public accountability and governance, RLG aims to drive positive change in collaboration with key local stakeholders.
